Movable Type's 3.0 version was released yesterday and their site was unreachable all morning as MT users beat their doors down to get their hands on the software. Most of the reviews I've seen have been negative, criticising the new licensing fees (between $70 and $600 per year) and a general lack of exciting new features.
This of course flies in the face of article three of the Blogger's Bill of Rights:
3. The most popular downloadable blogging software package shall be free and they must upgrade it constantly and they must answer my email questions within the hour and they must help me if I have trouble installing it. (But the checks from Google's AdWords program are mine to keep.)
Shame on you, Six Apart.

move over moveable type
like i mentioned before on this site,
the technology behind moveable type is juvenile at best. It's is a really immature product that can be rapidly developed by one person in a space of a couple of days. There are talented enough developed that could develop that software in about 2 days.
They build a business model around what amounts to The Pet Rock.
