I turned on Blues Clues and it was a huge disappointment. I was expecting a CBS-style drama — like CSI or Without a Trace — starring guitar heroes like B.B. King and Eric Clapton. It turns out the show is about a cartoon dog and a goofy live action guy who solve puzzles with a notebook and a pencil. There's also some kind of controversy about whether the new guy is the old guy's brother. Great.
I was told that my great-grandmother had a similar experience in the seventies when she tuned in to watch Charlie's Angels and it was a bunch of women in bikinis fighting crime — not the religious program she was expecting.

No kids?
I guess you have no kids? hahahahaha. Blues Clues has kinda settled down as far as promotion and having the "in" factor. It was big a year or two before our son was born (2001). We were so sick of seeing Blues Clues everywhere, Kmart commercials with that big headed Rosie, and they had a movie too. So when my wife had her baby shower, someone gave us a blues clues outfit, we were like "ARGH! He'll never wear that!!!" Now the little guy has about 4 or 5 outfits.... even one thats a replica of Joe's (the new , younger brother of Steve) clothes.
But yeah it was a big controversy when Joe replaced Steve. Steve Burns, the actor who played 'Steve", left to persue a music career. He's actually doing quiet well on the folksy/indie scene.
