The Harder They Come

I always liked the Jimmy Cliff song The Harder They Come, but if you asked me to name great reggae songs I doubt it would have come to mind. So this morning my Yahoo! Music Engine served up the Willie Nelson version from his Countryman album. I had downloaded it weeks ago, but I hadn't listened to any of it yet. It's a great song.

Then a few songs later it played the Joe Jackson version of The Harder They Come from his greatest hits album I had downloaded. It was strange to hear the same lyrics and a different arrangement so soon after hearing Willie's. I wonder how many songs I have different versions of like that. I never got into the whole Napster thing back when it was big, so this Yahoo Music service is probably more entertaining to me than to most teenagers.
