American Idol, American Dreams

I had a funky dream last night. Maybe funky dreams will be a new category here and appear every third post, but someone out there might connect the dots and learn things about me that even I don't don't count on it.

I was picked to be in the latest round of American Idol. They had twelve people signed up the usual way -- through auditions -- and another four of us who were outside the studio when the show was starting, so they brought us in to round out the cast. While we were waiting for the show to start, we all played video games and I was just thinking about how I didn't want to be the first one kicked out.

I've never watched the show, but I know what the dream was about. It means I was wishing that I hadn't been sick during our blogger retreat a couple of months ago. I went home to pass out after one of our dinners and my team kept on drinking and karaoke-ing into the night. I knew it was a dream about that night because our designer Mike Propst was sitting next to me in the green room, explaining the video game to me. I never play video games...
