hotcaptcha

July 30, 2006 @ 7:12am

"Captcha" is what they call that thing where a site makes you type the word you see in a picture to prove you're a human. The Netscape team uses it on the sign-up form.

They recently found another version that they're considering using in its place. It's called hotcaptcha and in order to prove that you are not a robot, you have to select three hot people from a grid of nine photos. I'm not sure if they can get that past AOL Legal, but it should be a fun discussion thread to watch.

It even has a little button at the bottom where you can "switch to men" and see a grid of nine male photos.

Did anyone else notice that the switch to men button doesn't work in Internet Explorer? There is a JavaScript error and it only works for me in Firefox.

Come on, you know you noticed that too.
