I just saw the AP story reporting that St. Louis was named the most dangerous U.S. city. It sucks that this had to be announced on the day of their big World Series victory parade. It also has to be tough on St. Louis mayor Francis Slay and his re-election chances. Just imagine the campaign slogans for that one.

Always-a-bridesmaid Detroit remained in second place and Camden, NJ, which has a special place in my heart, fell out of the top five after topping the list for two years in a row.

Someone from Camden must have finally gotten to the company compiling the stats.

This reminded me that I almost always see Detroit spelled with "riot" in it, like "Detriot". So I did a Google search on "detriot" and found that it's more common than just in IMs I get or blogs I read:
