N.J. suspected as source of stench
I like how spammers are incorporating timely headlines in their subject lines these days.
I've seen spam with subject lines about celebrity breakups the day the news breaks.
One I got the other day was titled "N.J. suspected as source of stench" and since I am way out of town I wouldn't have known what they were talking about if it hadn't been for Jeffrey's blog post on the gas smell in NYC.
Great work, spammers!

Odds are they just have their bots grab the latest headline from an RSS feed.

Exactly, but it's way more likely to get people to open the messages. Very clever.

And why does everyone think this is breaking news? Hasn't New Jersey been considered New York's armpit for decades.

If all the residents bought this product it might help!
