Whose Child?

July 18, 2007 @ 5:22am

This weekend I read an adoption-related book written from an adoptee's perspective called Whose Child? An Adoptee's Healing Journey from Relinquishment through Reunion ... and Beyond.

It is described on Amazon as a "provocative work for all members of the adoption triad" and it was fantastic. I know a handful of people who are adopted and adoption issues like reunions with birth parents fascinate me. Kasey Hamner's story was remarkable and many of the elements were eerily familiar.

For me it reinforces the fact that adoption is a complicated thing you can think you understand intellectually, but in reality have no clue what it's like to experience.
