A-Rod's 500th home run

August 5, 2007 @ 8:09am

We had tickets for the Yankees last Wednesday night and we have our usual Sunday tickets for today's game. We all went Wednesday hoping to see Alex Rodriguez hit his 500th home run, but it didn't happen. We did get to experience first-hand that fascinating twinkling effect of hundreds of camera flashes going off around the stadium with every pitch.

When A-Rod hadn't hit his home run on Friday, we thought there was a chance he'd save it for our Sunday game, but Alex took the first pitch he saw in yesterday's game out of the park. Good for him.

I heard something about some other player tying some other home run record yesterday, but he wasn't wearing pinstripes and half the people watching him in Petco Park were booing. I'm saving my commentary on that for his next home run.

Anyway, the way I look at it is that we have a chance to see A-Rod hit the first home run of his next 500 today.
