Catching up on more news from when I was offline, I found that the Ebert and Roeper (formerly Siskel and Ebert) TV show has ended. Of course, Gene Siskel died years ago and Roger Ebert hasn't been on the show in the last two years because of his own health problems.
One of my favorite Weblogs, Inc. memories was when we launched our movie blog Cinematical and Roger Ebert himself commented on one of our posts. How cool is that! Roger gives a great history of the show's 33-year run and details on the closing of the balcony on his blog.

Siskel and Ebert were in full swing when I started caring about the quality of movies I might see at the theater. I did not always agree with their opinions. They often disagreed with each other, as we all know. Half the entertainment of watching their show was seeing who ended up with the most off-the-wall, unpredicted review. Their discussions taught me how to appreciate others' opinions about movies without feeling that I had to accept them as my own or that I was an idiot for seeing it differently. Agreeing to disagree. Priceless.
