Product tricks

September 30, 2013 @ 5:02pm

I use Google Calendar every day, but I have too many items for their monthly view. Each day can only show about 3 items, so mine shows two of them and then a line with "+10 more." Useless.

But the weekly view doesn't let me see what's coming up in the future. I can use it to see my meetings for the next couple of days, but I can't use it to schedule meetings.

Luckily I discovered a way to get an in-between view. I'm not sure when they added it, but you can drag between two dates in the calendar navigation on the left and it will show a custom calendar with the weeks containing those dates.

So now I get my custom two-week view.

I just dug around to see when this feature was added. Sadly, they added this feature in 2008.

I wonder if it's in their product tour.

And I wonder what other features I'm missing in products I use every day.
